This Laboratory Generalist role offers the opportunity to work across multiple laboratory departments while contributing to accurate diagnostic testing that supports high-quality patient care. This position is ideal for an MLT professional seeking a stable day shift laboratory role with opportunities to expand their experience in a collaborative clinical environment.Job Responsibilities
- Perform laboratory testing and analysis across multiple departments including hematology, chemistry, microbiology, blood bank, and urinalysis*
- Prepare and process patient specimens while ensuring proper identification and specimen integrity*
- Operate, calibrate, and maintain laboratory analyzers and equipment*
- Analyze laboratory results and report findings accurately and efficiently*
- Follow established laboratory procedures, safety protocols, and quality control standards*
- Maintain accurate laboratory documentation and records*
- Assist with troubleshooting laboratory equipment and resolving testing issues*
- Support laboratory quality assurance initiatives and regulatory compliance*
- Communicate effectively with physicians, nurses, and healthcare staff regarding laboratory results*
- Contribute to efficient daily laboratory operations as a generalist across multiple testing areas
- Associate Degree in Medical Laboratory Technology or related laboratory science field from an accredited program
- Certification as a Medical Laboratory Technician through the American Society for Clinical Pathology or equivalent certifying organization*
- MLT (ASCP) certification
- Experience working in a hospital or clinical laboratory environment*
- Knowledge of hematology, chemistry, microbiology, and blood bank testing procedures*
- Experience operating automated laboratory analyzers and diagnostic equipment*
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accurate laboratory testing*
- Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills*
- Ability to work independently while collaborating with healthcare team members
