This candidate will work with a vendor that does this as a specialty. Keeps a third party validation company in check from a technical level.Set countermeasures to resolve these issues. Spot auditingPredominantly and redoing Safety PLC logic and safety circuitry.Must Haves:5+ years of experience but ideally 7-10+Safety and PLC experienceFunctional Safety Expert certification, engineer, or similarEducation: FSE - Functional Safety Expert certificationNotes:5+ years of experience in functional safety engineering within industrial or automation sectors and Technical Associate s Degree or higher in a related discipline.Job Description:Develop detailed area project plans and schedulesAudit Safety Control Systems (SCS) for compliance to ISO 13849 and ANSI B11Identify and document non-conformities within SCS designsDesign and verify countermeasures to achieve target control category and performance levelsDevelop schedules with deliverables, milestones, concerns, and key performance indicatorsManage an 3rd Party consultant group by milestones, concerns, and key performance indicatorsLead cross-functional communication and collaboration to ensure issue resolutionProvide written and verbal project status reports to management and stakeholdersAudit SCS design modifications to ensure correlation with intended designSupport the Control Reliability team through mentorship and technical coachingPerform hands-on troubleshooting and implementation as neededDemonstrate a positive, team-oriented attitude and contribute to cross-functional success.
Requirements:Qualifications:Functional Safety Certification, such as TU V Functional Safety Engineer or equivalentCertification credentials included with resume5+ years of experience in functional safety engineering within industrial or automation sectors and Technical Associate s Degree or higher in a related disciplineIn-depth knowledge of ISO 13849-1, ANSI B11, and other relevant standardsDemonstrated technical problem-solving and countermeasure implementation skillsProficiency with Microsoft Excel and PowerPointSafety PLC programming experience, including the ability to read, interpret, modify, and configure logicExperience with PLC/SPLC communication protocols and system integrationAvailability to support weekends, off-shifts, and holidays as requiredAbility to work during scheduled shutdowns (July and December)Capability to navigate large industrial facilities: standing, walking, climbing stairs, bending, and kneeling as neededAbility to safely lift, push, or pull up to 25 poundsAdded Bonus:Experience with risk assessment toolsFMEA/FMEDA methodologiesProficiency with one or more Safety PLC platforms, including:Allen-Bradley GuardLogixOmron
