Job Description

Primary Skills: Functional Safety Program Management (Advanced), ISO 26262 (Advanced), Automotive Product Development (Advanced), Supplier Management (Advanced), Safety Analysis (Advanced), Contract Type: W2 Contract Duration: 3+ Month with extension Location: Southfield MI (#LI- Onsite) Pay Range: $80.00 - $90.00 Per Hour#LPJob Summary:

This role leads and governs all functional safety activities for a complete vehicle program, acting as the primary safety authority. The position ensures adherence to ISO 26262 standards throughout the entire product development lifecycle, from initial concept to vehicle release. The ideal candidate will proactively identify and mitigate risks, driving execution across diverse engineering teams and supplier partners.

Key Responsibilities:

Develop and manage the overall vehicle functional safety plan.
Oversee ISO 26262 compliance and governance processes.
Track and ensure timely completion of all safety deliverables.
Coordinate safety efforts across multiple engineering departments and suppliers.
Identify, assess, and drive mitigation of safety risks.

Must-Have Skills:

5+ years of Functional Safety Program Management experience.
Deep understanding of ISO 26262 standards.
Proven experience managing automotive product development.
Demonstrated ability to lead complete vehicle programs.
Hands-on experience supporting safety verification, validation, testing, and safety release activities.

Automotive industry experience is required, with a strong preference for candidates who have managed vehicle-level functional safety activities from concept through production.
