Position Overview
Fund Accounting Analysts support fund operations and investment teams by managing the accounting, reporting, and reconciliation of private investment funds. The role blends technical accounting knowledge, analytical skills, and operational awareness to ensure accurate fund financial statements and investor reporting.
These roles often involve close collaboration with fund controllers, operations teams, auditors, and investor relations professionals.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare and review fund financial statements and investor reports
Calculate Net Asset Value (NAV) for funds on a regular basis
Reconcile fund accounts, including cash, investments, and liabilities
Support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes
Assist with investor reporting, including capital calls, distributions, and performance metrics
Maintain accurate and organized accounting records in accordance with GAAP and fund agreements
Collaborate with auditors during internal and external audits
Identify and resolve discrepancies, errors, or inefficiencies in fund accounting processes
Support operational and compliance reporting for funds as needed
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field
Strong understanding of fund accounting principles, GAAP, and private fund operations
Familiarity with private equity, hedge fund, or alternative investment structures
Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills with strong attention to detail
Proficiency in Excel; familiarity with accounting software (e.g., Geneva, Investran, or eFront) is a plus
Ability to work effectively in fast-paced, deadline-driven environments
Clear written and verbal communication skills
Interest in fund operations, accounting, and financial reporting
