Essential Duties/Principal Responsibilities:
- Receives Instruction from Supervisor as to work to be performed.
- Hooks up to position and removes plates/pipes on plasma/flame cutting beds, shear table, and/or press.
- Aligns plates and operates shear in shearing plate to size. Adjust shear blade to thickness to shear.
- Lights torch, operates control and flame cuts to specified dimensions
- Manually stamps/marks plates and pipe for identification
- Manually or machine cuts scrap and cuts identifies tests.
- Keeps immediate work area in clean and orderly condition
- Lubricates and cleans equipment daily
- Observes all safety and shop rules
- Assist and/or trains new employees in job classification
- Participation in Xylem Watermark volunteer activities
- Pay rate $22.36 plus shift differential (increase to $29.81 at 1 year anniversary)
Education:
- High School diploma or equivalency
Experience:
- 1 to 2 years’ experience in plasma and manual cutting
- Competent in reading, interpreting drawings and capable of performing simple math calculations (addition, subtraction, division, and multiplication).
Physical Demands:
- Lifting (30-35 lbs.), manufacturing floor environment
- Regularly required to sit or stand, reach, bend and move about the facility
- Regularly required to listen, talk to, and see employees on a daily basis.
