Chimney Cricket & Hometown Hearth is seeking an experienced Gas Fireplace Service Technician to join our growing team. This position is ideal for an NFI Gas Certified technician who enjoys diagnosing problems, solving complex issues, and delivering exceptional customer service. If you take pride in doing repairs correctly the first time, communicating clearly with homeowners, and representing a company known for quality workmanship, we'd love to meet you.
Responsibilities
- Diagnose, service, repair, and maintain gas fireplaces, gas inserts, gas stoves, gas log sets, and direct vent appliances.
- Perform annual maintenance, cleanings, safety inspections, and operational testing.
- Troubleshoot ignition systems, pilot assemblies, valves, blowers, controls, venting systems, and electrical components.
- Verify installations meet manufacturer specifications and applicable building codes.
- Perform gas leak testing, combustion and draft evaluations, and appliance safety checks.
- Clearly explain findings, repair options, and recommendations to customers.
- Document service calls thoroughly using ServiceTitan.
- Maintain company vehicle, inventory, and tools in a clean and organized manner.
- Collaborate with installers, sales staff, and office personnel to provide an outstanding customer experience.
- Continue professional development by staying current on manufacturer updates, industry standards, and new products.
Requirements
- Current NFI Gas Specialist Certification (required)
- Minimum of 3 years of experience servicing and repairing gas hearth appliances.
- Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic abilities.
- Working knowledge of direct vent, B-vent, vent-free, and gas log systems.
- Ability to read wiring diagrams, installation manuals, and technical documentation.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety.
- Ability to lift up to 75 pounds and work on ladders, rooftops, crawl spaces, and in varying weather conditions.
- CSIA, NCSG, or additional NFI certifications are a plus.

Compensation: $30.00 - $32.00 per hour
