Job Description
Summary:
- Pay Rate: $60-$62 per hour
- Duration: 12 Months
- Work Mode: Remote
- Location: Greenville, SC
- Working EST Hours - standard business hours
Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute high-fidelity finite element models (FEM) to evaluate gas turbine hardware under complex thermal and mechanical boundary conditions.
- Perform life predictions, including Low/High Cycle Fatigue (LCF/HCF), creep, oxidation, and fracture mechanics to ensure component reliability.
- Conduct structural, modal, and forced response analyses; effectively interpret results to create Campbell diagrams and characterize dynamic behavior.
- Provide decisive technical support for urgent engineering requests from field teams. Support root cause analysis investigations to identify failure mechanisms and implement robust, long-term solutions.
- Synthesize complex analytical findings into clear, actionable presentations for design reviews and internal stakeholders.
Requirements:
- Bachelors of Science in Mechanical, Aerospace Engineering, or other relevant engineering discipline.
- At least 4 years of relevant engineering design experience.
- Experience with ANSYS Classic and mechanical finite element analysis (FEA) design (4 years).
- NX (CAD) experience (4 years).
- Knowledge of GD&T standards, and how to interpret engineering drawings, perform stackups, etc.
- Experience using PLM or Teamcenter configuration management tools.
- Strong interpersonal skills and strong oral and written communication skills.
- Experience working with global teams and in a services environment.
- Must be a US person that can view export-controlled material.
Preferred Skills:
- Masters of Science in Engineering.
- Prior experience supporting or leading root cause analyses (RCA) is desirable.
- Familiarity with advanced Python programming.
