The Boise VA Medical Center has an opening for an energetic, driven, and compassionate Gastroenterologist .

Facility Details: The Boise VA Medical Center is actively recruiting a Board Eligible or Board-Certified Gastroenterologist to help care for our Veterans - America's Heroes . The Boise VA Medical Center is a full-service Veterans Affairs healthcare facility located in Boise, Idaho. It provides primary, specialty, and mental health inpatient and outpatient care to Veterans in southwestern Idaho, eastern Oregon, and northern Nevada. The center includes a main hospital with 47 medical/surgical beds, a gastroenterology clinic with endoscopy suites, and operating facilities with anesthesiology support for high-risk endoscopy procedures. The Boise VA Medical Center is affiliated with the University of Washington School of Medicine and serves as the main training site for the University of Washington Boise Internal Medicine residency. The mission of the Boise VA is to deliver high-quality, compassionate care to Veterans while advancing medical education and research. The facility serves approximately 28,000 Veterans annually.

Position Details: The selected Gastroenterologist Physician responsibilities will include but not be limited to inpatient consultations, inpatient upper and lower endoscopy, outpatient consultations, outpatient upper and lower endoscopy, and high quality patient care/continual process improvement. Ability to perform endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography (ERCP) is not required but desirable. This position will also have teaching responsibilities including clinical teaching of University of Washington Boise Internal Medicine residents and medical students in the hospital setting. For candidates interested in research, protected research time could be considered.

Additional Duties/Responsibilities : Based on hospital and departmental needs, the gastroenterologist will focus primarily on outpatient/inpatient procedures and inpatient consults (average of 3-8 consults a week).

Tour of duty: Monday-Friday, 8:00 am - 4:30 pm, no on-call.

Salary: $370,000-$400,000+ recruitment incentive.
