Job Description
OverviewAnsible Government Solutions, LLC (Ansible) is currently recruiting multiple Gastroenterology Physicians to support the Boise VA Medical Center located at 500 W Fort St, Boise, ID 83702. The schedule is typically Monday-Friday 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM with rotating call coverage. If you accept employment with Ansible, you must also acknowledge that any assigned schedule is subject to change at the direction of either Ansible or its customers. To address these challenges, we employ intelligent and committed staff who take care of our customers’ success as if it is their own.Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive inpatient and outpatient Gastroenterology physician services.
- Deliver care consistent with current American College of Gastroenterology (ACG) and American College of Physicians (ACP) standards.
- Conduct consultations, diagnosis, evaluation, treatment planning, and follow-up care for GI patients
- Perform the full range of required core procedures, including:
- Colonoscopy
- Colonoscopy via colostomy
- Colonoscopy with biopsy
- Colonoscopy with lesion/tumor removal
- Colonoscopy with ablation
- Colonoscopy with snare polypectomy
- Diagnostic EGD
- EGD with biopsy
- EGD with lesion/tumor removal by forceps or snare technique
- Provide bedside consultations for hospitalized patients.
- Provide outpatient GI consultations.
- Complete procedures within 30 days of consult referral when clinically appropriate.
- Participate in the GI call schedule established by the VA.
- Carry a VA-issued hospital phone/pager during assigned call periods.
- Respond to calls within 15 minutes.
- Report onsite within 60 minutes when medically indicated.
- Provide after-hours telephone consultation to VA clinical staff.
- Document all encounters, procedures, consultations, and treatment plans in CPRS and Provation.
- Complete medical record documentation in accordance with VA and HIPAA requirements.
- Ensure all patient records are entered into the VA electronic health record system.
- Support the education and supervision of Health Professions Trainees (HPTs).
- Participate in resident and trainee development.
- Provide teaching, evaluations, and supervision consistent with VA guidelines.
- Attend required medical staff and service meetings.
- Participate in credentialing and performance monitoring activities.
- Coordinate patient care and discharge education.
- Board Certified OR Board Eligible in Gastroenterology through the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM).
- Board Certified and Board Eligible candidates are equally acceptable
- Current, full, and unrestricted license to practice medicine or surgery in a State, Territory, or Commonwealth of the Unites States, or in the District of Columbia.
- Current AHA Bls and ACLS Certification
- Current DEA registration
- Must be able to pass a Federal background investigation.
All candidates must be able to:
- Sit, stand, walk, lift, squat, bend, twist, and reach above shoulders during the work shift
- Lift up to 50 lbs from floor to waist
- Lift up to 20 lbs
- Carry up to 40 lbs a reasonable distance
- Push/pull with 30 lbs of force
