Job Description
Job Summary: We are seeking a reliable and skilled General Dental Assistant to support our dental team in providing high-quality patient care. The ideal candidate is organized, detail-oriented, and has a strong understanding of general dental procedures.
Responsibilities:
- Assist the dentist during a variety of treatment procedures.
- Prepare and sterilize instruments and equipment.
- Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays).
- Prepare patients for treatment and ensure their comfort.
- Provide chairside assistance during procedures.
- Maintain accurate patient records and update charts.
- Educate patients on oral hygiene and post-operative care.
- Ensure compliance with infection control and safety protocols.
- Manage operatory setup and breakdown before and after procedures.
Requirements:
- Previous experience as a dental assistant preferred.
- Knowledge of general dental procedures and terminology.
- Ability to take dental X-rays (certification preferred/required per state regulations).
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.
- Familiarity with dental software systems is a plus.
- Current CPR certification preferred.
