General Education Teacher
Location: Washington, DCPay Rate: $40–$54/hour based on experience
At Navra, we believe great schools start with great people. We’re looking for a passionate and dedicated General Education Teacher to join a K–12 school community in Washington, DC.
As a K–12 School-Based General Education Teacher, Your Days Will Include:
Plan and deliver engaging, standards-aligned instruction that supports students’ academic growth and achievement.
Create a positive, structured, and inclusive classroom environment where all students feel supported and encouraged to succeed.
Differentiate instruction to meet a variety of learning styles, academic levels, and individual student needs.
Develop lesson plans, classroom activities, assessments, and instructional materials aligned with curriculum expectations.
Monitor student progress through assessments, classroom performance, and other data to inform instructional decisions.
Collaborate with special education teachers, related service providers, paraprofessionals, administrators, and other school staff to support student success.
Build strong relationships with students and maintain consistent communication with families regarding academic progress and classroom expectations.
Implement effective classroom management strategies that promote engagement, responsibility, respect, and a positive learning environment.
Job Details
Position: Contract position with option to renew
Setting: K–12 school-based
Location: Washington, DC
Hours: Full-time, Monday–Friday
Pay: $40–$54/hour based on experience
Schedule: Follows the school calendar
Successful Candidates Possess
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Education or a related field
Active or eligible Washington, DC teaching credential appropriate for the assignment
Previous classroom or school-based teaching experience preferred
Strong knowledge of curriculum development, lesson planning, assessment, and differentiated instruction
Effective classroom management and student engagement skills
Strong communication, organization, and collaboration skills
Passion for supporting students academically, socially, and emotionally
New graduates and early-career educators are encouraged to apply
Ability to work in the U.S. without sponsorship
