General Laborer - Packaging

PURPOSE:

Perform packaging function to prepare products for shipment by handling items carefully, following packing guidelines and ensuring orders are accurate. Accuracy and attention to detail are essential.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Follow Company Safety and Housekeeping policies and procedures.
• Reading order slips or using scanners to select the correct products to be packaged.
• Inspecting items for damage or missing parts before packing.
• Selecting appropriate boxes and packing materials to protect products in transit.
• Wrapping and arranging items in containers to prevent movement or breakage.
• Sealing packages securely and applying accurate labeling.
• Using packing tools such as tape guns, box cutters and shrink wrap machines.
• May utilize hand and power tools in the performance of responsibilities.
• May perform light assembly functions as assigned.
• Maintaining a clean and organized packing area for safety and efficiency.
• Reporting issues such as damaged goods or low stock to supervisors.
• Other duties as assigned by Supervisor.
• Excellent Attendance required.

Requirements

• High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED)
• Entry level position, prior experience in a manufacturing environment of 6 months to 1 year.
• Ability to read tape measure and blueprints.
