Job Description
Quanex is looking for a General Laborer to join our 1st Shift team located in Chatsworth IL.
The General Laborer supports daily production operations by performing a variety of manual tasks in a manufacturing environment. This role is responsible for assisting machine operators, assembling products, maintaining a clean work area, and ensuring materials and finished goods are handled safely and efficiently.
Schedule:
Monday- Friday: 7:00am - 3:00pm.

What Success Looks Like:
- Perform basic assembly, packaging, and material‑handling tasks
- Load, unload, and move materials or products manually or using equipment
- Assist machine operators with setup, operation, and troubleshooting
- Inspect materials and products for quality standards
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace
- Follow all safety procedures and report hazards or issues promptly
- Support other production tasks as assigned
What You Bring:
- Prior manufacturing or warehouse experience a plus
- Strong work ethic and reliability
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
- Must work well with others.
- Must be able to lift, bend and kneel frequently.
The hourly wage for this position is $17.00/hr.
