Position Summary
Reporting to the Director of Treasury, the General Ledger & Payroll Accountant will assist with the firm’s payroll, the monthly 401(k) firm-match, monthly incentive accruals, and annual W-2 filings. They also support monthly general ledger close, which includes preparing reconciliations of key accounts and reviewing general ledger accounting data and assisting with cost center manager meetings. They also play a key role in various special projects working closely with Siegfried Business Systems to drive accuracy and efficiency throughout our financial operations and reporting.
This role works closely and collaborates with the Senior GL & Payroll Accountant, Controller, Financial Operations, National Professional Resource Operations (NPRO), Human Resources (HR) and key functional leaders and teams. We are looking for an energized, self-starter with critical thinking who can help drive our monthly close process and strengthen key controls.
Essential Functions & Key Responsibilities
Maintain the detailed payroll files for each individual employee in the payroll module and assist with transmitting to ADP each month
Maintain a detailed spreadsheet on each employee in order to review & reconcile each payroll run
Ensure monthly 401(k) is processed timely and accurately while working with HR to ensure 401(k) elections are completed monthly
Prepare bank entries to reflect payment of the funds in the general ledger
Perform reconciliation and accrual procedures required within the monthly financial close process for payroll, incentives and other accounts as assigned
Assist with year-end and 401(k) audits
Assist with the W2 year-end process
Support the Senior GL & Payroll Accountant, Controller and Director of Treasury with month-end closing, year- end closings, and year-end audit
Continuously improve and refine internal controls for areas of responsibility
Performs other duties as required or assigned by the Controller

Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting
Basic knowledge and understanding of internal controls
Advanced knowledge of sophisticated financial systems required (Workday preferred)
Adept in use of Microsoft 365 software suite and project management tools
Highly organized individual who is detail-oriented and able to prioritize tasks with a desire for personal and professional development
Strong leadership skills
Strong analytic and problem-solving skills
Superior written and verbal communication skills

Ability and willingness to work in a Siegfried office Monday through Thursday (four days per week minimum) in accordance with Siegfried's then-current policy (This requirement is subject to change at the discretion of management)
Ability to work 9-10 hours per day (or an average of 48 to 50 hours per week)
Availability to work nights and weekends as necessary
Desired Qualifications
Certified Public Accountant or a path to licensure is preferred
1-2 years of relevant work experience in a fast-paced environment
