POSITION: GENERAL MAINTENANCE WORKER/GROUNDSKEEPER
DEPARTMENT: Physical Plant
REPORTS TO: Director of Physical Plant
CLASSIFICATION: Non-exempt
JOB SUMMARY: Lane College seeks a General Maintenance Worker/Groundskeeper who will perform general maintenance and repairs on assigned equipment and facilities, including plumbing, electrical, basic carpentry, heating and cooling, and other building systems. The Groundskeeper will also be responsible for landscaping tasks, using power equipment and hand tools to maintain the facility's grounds.
DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
Maintenance Functions:
- Perform general plumbing, electrical, and HVAC repairs on the facility's equipment.
- Inspect equipment and systems to identify and resolve issues.
- Maintain buildings, including painting, facility maintenance, and repairs.
- Evaluate facilities to determine necessary maintenance or repairs.
- Work with the maintenance supervisor to plan work priorities, obtain supplies, and assess required skills for tasks.
- Collaborate with team members to discuss daily work assignments.
- Ensure maintenance and repair work is completed safely, effectively, and in a timely manner.
- Other related duties as assigned by supervisor.
