About the Role The General Manager leads the overall growth and performance of Steg Plumbing. This role drives business development, oversees operations, and leads the Steg management team while representing the company across the Indianapolis construction market.

What You'll Do

  • Lead business development and marketing strategy, and personally pursue new customers and opportunities
  • Build and maintain relationships with general contractors, developers, owners, and suppliers across the Indianapolis market
  • Oversee day-to-day operations to ensure projects hit our standards for safety, quality, and profitability
  • Directly manage the Steg management team, including quarterly check-ins and development plans
  • Own the segment's budget and financial performance, including sales forecasts, margins, and capital planning
  • Lead recruiting, hiring, and workforce planning, including the apprenticeship and skilled trades pipeline
  • Champion the Steg Plumbing culture and safety standards, and represent Steg on the Dave Jones Leadership Team

Requirements

  • 10+ years of construction industry experience, with at least 5 years in a direct leadership role
  • Associate's degree in Business Management or Construction, or Bachelor's in Construction Management preferred (not required - replaced with experience)
  • Valid driver's license
  • Strong business development instincts and the ability to build lasting relationships in the local market
  • Comfortable managing budgets, leading people, and making decisions in high-stress situations
