Job Description
Summary:
An established HVAC service company is looking to hire a General Manager for their Service Division in Fort Lauderdale, FL. This company provides full-service installation, maintenance, and repairs for commercial HVAC systems. The primary responsibility for this position carries end-to-end responsibility for profit and loss, overall operations, customer satisfaction, employee development, safety, and long-term growth initiatives.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and develop the Dade and Broward service organization, including supervisors, technicians, customer service, billing, and warehouse teams, through coaching, training, recruiting, and consistent field engagement focused on quality, safety, and customer experience.
- Partner with service leaders statewide to ensure aligned operating standards and performance expectations.
- Oversee all daily service operations, including scheduling, workforce planning, dispatch, preventative maintenance, repairs, and special projects, ensuring timely, accurate, and high-quality execution.
- Diagnose root causes of technical issues and promote the use of digital tools to improve efficiency, documentation, and service quality.
- Review service documentation to ensure accuracy, proper billing, profitability, and prompt resolution of customer issues, warranty matters, and escalations.
- Maintain full P&L ownership for the Dade and Broward service business, including annual planning, revenue and margin targets, pricing governance, and collaboration with Finance on collections and aging receivables.
- Monitor key performance metrics such as labor utilization, material and inventory costs, backlog, DSO, preventative maintenance compliance, and overall service profitability.
- Drive service growth by empowering technicians to identify opportunities and partnering with Sales to expand maintenance agreements and repair revenue.
Qualifications:
- 10+ years of experience in the commercial HVAC service industry is required.
- Must possess 3-5 years of leadership experience within the industry.
- Must have extensive knowledge managing service operations with P&L accountability.
- Experience utilizing Microsoft Office is required. Experience with COINS and XOI is preferred.
- A Valid Driver's License and ability to travel throughout Miami-Dade/Broward counties is required.
