Overview
Job Description
The Technician – General Sanitation is responsible for cleaning, sanitizing, and maintaining production, common, and office areas. This role performs sanitation duties in accordance with established guidelines and specifications to support a safe and compliant food manufacturing environment.
This is an overnight 3rd Shift Role
Essential Job Functions
- Clean and sanitize production areas, including equipment, tools, footbaths, and drains
- Maintain cleanliness of materials used in production areas
- Foam, scrub, and rinse production floors, common areas, and restrooms
- Maintain cleanliness of the building and offices
- Stock, record, and manage cleaning supply inventory
- Request new sanitation supplies as needed
- Record and update sanitation logs
- Maintain inventory of cleaning and sanitation supplies including PPE, chemicals, paper supplies, soap, and trash bags
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
Preferred Qualifications
- High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Ability to learn and understand sanitation procedures
- Ability to learn and understand chemicals used in food manufacturing areas
- Ability to learn and understand proper trash and disposal procedures
- Ability to work efficiently and accurately under pressure
- Ability to meet deadlines while maintaining attention to detail
- Ability to present a professional demeanor
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Environmental / Working Conditions
- Ability to work overnight shifts, weekends, and holidays
- Ability to work overnight 3rd Shift
- Ability to work in temperatures ranging from 35°F to 95°F (may occasionally exceed 95°F)
Physical Requirements
- Regularly required to stand, walk, and use hands to handle, feel, and reach
- Occasionally required to stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, talk, and hear
- Occasionally required to lift a minimum of 10 pounds
- Vision requirements include close vision, color vision, depth perception, and ability to focus
- Occasional exposure to moving mechanical parts, toxic or caustic chemicals, fumes, or airborne particles
- Noise levels range from normal office environments to loud manufacturing settings
