The General Maintenance Mechanic will perform a wide variety of duties essential to the manufacture of chemical products while consistently adhering to all established safety and operating procedures.
Essential Functions
- installation, mechanical repair, & preventative maintenance of rotating equipment, piping & valves which may include: pipe welding, brazing and/or heavy equipment operation.
- Write work orders and obtain needed parts and supplies within the computerized maintenance management system.
- Assist in coordinating activities with other co-workers, supervisors, and operations personnel.
- Support and encourage a strong HSE and team environment
- Additional duties and responsibilities as assigned, including but not limited to continuously growing in alignment with the Company's core values, competencies, and skills.
Education Qualifications
- Required High School or Equivalent
Experience Qualifications
- Required 3+ years journeyman-level maintenance experience in a manufacturing or heavy industrial environment or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Preferred chemical manufacturing experience, apprenticeship and/or UA welding certification
Skills and Abilities
- demonstrated ability to install, repair, and/or maintain rotating equipment, piping, and/or valves
- pipefitting, welding & heavy equipment operation experience a plus
Working Conditions/Physical Demands
- Working on or around moving machinery; operating vehicles with and without loading responsibilities as part of daily operations.
- Regularly lifting, pushing, pulling and carrying objects, tools and equipment weighing between 25 and 50pounds daily
- Performs job duties both indoors and outdoors, with regular exposure to varying environmental conditions.
- Frequently walking, bending, stooping, kneeling, climbing or reaching to complete assigned tasks, including reaching above shoulderlevel.
- Requires full use of both hands and strong finger dexterity for equipment operation, controls, and tools.
