Summary:

Genetics Clinic- Monday-Friday days, Full-time (40 hrs/week)

Additional Information:

As an entry-level genetic counselor, you will work under the supervision of a certified genetic counselor to provide essential services, including genetic risk assessment, counseling, and patient education. You will gain hands-on experience in a dynamic healthcare environment while developing your professional skills. This position offers a unique opportunity to grow within a supportive team, gain valuable clinical experience, and receive guidance as you prepare for certification.

Description

  1. Conduct patient interviews and family history assessments to collect medical, genetic, and psychosocial information.

  2. Provide genetic counseling for a variety of indications, including prenatal, pediatric, adult, and cancer genetics.

  3. Educate patients and families about genetic conditions, inheritance patterns, testing options, and potential outcomes.

  4. Assist with ordering, interpreting, and communicating genetic test results under the guidance of a certified genetic counselor.

  5. Prepare case summaries, reports, and documentation for patient records.

  6. Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and case reviews.

  7. Stay up-to-date with current developments in genetics and genomics.

  8. Assist in the development of patient education materials and community outreach programs.

  9. Other duties assigned.
