Job Description

Our MRO Jacksonville facility is seeking Aviation Maintenance Technicians that are motivated to support a greater cause in directly impacting military warfighter readiness by providing critical maintenance repairs and modifications for our military customers. We are proud knowing the products we return to service will strengthen global security.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  1. 3+ years of Aircraft Mechanic (Experience in either commercial or defense or relevant trade apprenticeship would be considered)
  2. 3+ years experience in reading and understanding engineering drawings, blueprints, schematics and specifications
  3. Ability to close tolerance drill within .003 & Ability to precision measure within .003
  4. Computer proficiency including Microsoft Office Suite

Primary Responsibilities: Repair overhaul structures for P8 aircraft

Identify if a fastener is a rivet, blind rivet, screw, hi-lock, bolt or lock boltRead and interpret blueprints, process data sheets & maintenance instruction manualsDemonstrate knowledge of cleaning, corrosion prevention and control, polish or dry wash tasksKnowledge of common fastener sizes and correct cutting tools for removal and installation processesRemove and reinstall access panels and fairings. Remove damaged screws without damaging surrounding structureAbility to safety wire and install cotter pinsAbility to apply aircraft finishes (primer and paint), Alodine, and sealantsAbility to close tolerance drill within .001 & Ability to precision measure within .0005 in metallic and composite structures.Perform structural repairs and modifications on strike fighters, commercial derivative aircraft, and flight control componentsUtilize measuring tools such as micrometer, dial caliper, grip gauges, feeler gauge, depth gauge, trimic, and bore gagesFabricate, locate, trim, drill/ream, and assemble metallic and composite components. Makes major/minor modification to aircraft skins and other structural components. Installs rivets, blind fasteners, hiloks, etc in metallic and composite structures.Ability to properly utilize Assembly Jigs (AJ), Repair Equipment (RE), and other similar fixed tooling to locate parts, trim, shim, final drill, debur, and build components to meet Blueprint requirementsEnsure aircraft technical log book, maintenance documentation, work packages and zonal handovers are completed accurately and within prescribed timescales in conjunction with the program leads and managersKnowledge/ability to read and comprehend Airworthiness Directives, Technical Directives and Service Bulletins to effective aircraftHighlight any technical issues, discrepancies or other issues to the program lead and manager
