The County Recorder keeps the official records of the county, recording mortgages, deeds, and other documents involving property. The Recorder also maintains up-to-date maps which show current ownership of every section of land.

May underfill as GIS Cadastral Analyst I

The Opportunity:

Under general guidance and direction of the GIS Cadastral Supervisor, performs technical and analytical work in creating, maintaining, and updating land ownership records, the abstract of said records, the parcel layer of Utah County's Geographic Information Systems (GIS) database. Performs duties at the full performance level, including the most complex duties within the assigned function. Provides assistance to Cadastral Mapper I's and II's and is capable of assisting others with a broad array of mapping and recording work.

Grade: GIS Cadastral Analyst II - 725

Grade: GIS Cadastral Analyst I - 723

Starting Pay: GIS Cadastral Analyst II - $33.60 - $38.64 Hourly

Starting Pay: GIS Cadastral Analyst I - $29.24 - $33.60 Hourly

Schedule: 8 a.m. - 5 p.m. Monday thru Friday

Job Qualifications:

GIS Cadastral Analyst II

  1. Bachelor's degree or equivalent.

  2. Two (2) years of work experience in a closely related field using ArcMap Software.

  3. Equivalent combinations of education and experience may also be considered.

Preferred Candidates will possess some of the below attributes:

  1. Preference may be given to applicants with a bachelor's degree in GIS, geography, civil engineering, or a related field.

  2. Preference may be given to applicants with work experience closely related to land title, engineering, surveying, cartography, or GIS.

Additional Eligibility Qualifications:

  1. Selected applicants must obtain a Cadastral Mapping Certificate from the Utah Association of County Recorders during the first year in the position. The time requirement may be adjusted based on the Recorders Association schedule of offered classes.

  2. Selected applicants must have successfully passed the Utah County Advanced Cadastral Mapping test.

  3. Applicants must possess a valid driver's license and obtain a valid State of Utah driver's license within sixty (60) days of employment.

  4. Selected applicants will be required to submit to a pre-employment drug screen and background check.

  1. Bachelor's degree or equivalent.
