Job Description

RoleGIS Technician 3 (Distribution)LocationBirmingham AL 35203 USA.Duration* * * 36+ months (Possible extension or Conversion)Pay Rate* * * $32 to $38/Hr. On W2 (Without Benefits)Shift* * * 1st Shift (Mon-Fri)* * *  Job Description:
  • Input, processing, and maintenance of Alabama Power Distribution Lines and Equipment assets in an ESRI GIS database.
Qualification requirements:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Bachelor’s degree (Geography, GIS, or similar field), GIS Certificate, or at least 2 years of full time GIS work experience is required.
  • Power Distribution knowledge is a plus.
  • Experience with ESRI ArcGIS software required;experience with ESRI ArcGIS Pro software is a plus.
  • Competency with standard computer software, to include Microsoft Office suite is required.
  • Capable of working in a team environment is required.
  • Experience with CAD (Computer Aided Drafting) is a plus.
  • Flexible working 40 hours per week, M-F, in an office environment in Birmingham, Alabama.
  • Shifts may be 8 or 10 hours per day, starting as early as 7am and ending as late as 5pm.
  • Flexible to work remotely (from home) as well.
Remote work requires stable broadband Internet connection of 20mb/s or capable of supporting remote desktop connections over VPN and is responsibility of worker.
