Job Description:
Location and/or time zone: Local - must be able to start ASAP
Reason for opening: Special Project for SPRINT 28 season kick off
Expected contract length: 21 Weeks from start date
Team details & who they will work with: They will work with other Apparel Designers to make revisions to past seasonal works and add fresh ideas to the collections
Top must-have skills include the following:
Creating Tech Packs - sending to manufacturer and revising past designs with creative ideas
Fresh creative ideas they can bring in to the team
Desired Candidate Profile:
Minimum required years of experience: 5+ YOE in Cut and Sew pattern design
Education requirements: Bachelors or equivalent experience
MUST INCLUDE Portfolios: good breath of range and design styles and categories, lifestyle focused for sports, Materials knowledge
Nice to Have Skills:
Experience in graphic design for Apparel and Accessories
Experience in Color and Materials design
Experience in apparel industry for womens and mens lifestyle wear
Who We're Looking For
Bachelor's Degree in Apparel/Fashion Design or related design field or equivalent combination of relevant education, experience, and training.
5+ years of relevant work experience in a design environment working with materials, trims, design and fit.
You have an outstanding ability to apply and perform foundational design skills, including drawing/sketching, illustrations across analog and digital platforms. 3D experience is a plus.
You are proficient in Adobe Illustrator, concept ideation, color theory and have strong presentation skills along with the ability to convey your design point of view through a variety of visual tools to both internal and external partners.
You have a comprehensive understanding of materials, color and fit standards.
You have relevant Apparel/Fashion/Design experience through on-job training and strong portfolio representation. Extra consideration will be given to those with a background in lifestyle apparel creation and experience with external (Energy) collaborators.
Who You Will Work With
This position will report into the Energy Creative Director and will work alongside a cross-functional team who works on Energy Apparel. This role requires experience developing and managing cross-functional relationships with Graphic Designers, Product Management & Merchandising, Material/Trim Development, Technical Development and Sourcing teams. This role requires translating consumer & athlete insights and trend right lifestyle product. The right candidate for this role understands that the best way to predict the future is to create it. This role will not have any direct reports.
What You will Work on?
Execute against a defined creative vision for brand collaborations, partnerships, and seasonal concepts, translating direction into compelling apparel product designs.
Drive design development on assigned projects, from early concepting through refinement, prototyping, and final execution, ensuring storytelling, materials, and details align to the intended narrative.
Partner closely with Directors and Expert-level designers to push ideas further, elevate concepts, and ensure creative intent is maintained throughout the product creation process, inclusive of aiding with technical packages for current/ongoing workstreams.
Collaborate cross-functionally with Product Design, Development, Merchandising, Marketing, and external partners to deliver cohesive, high-quality outcomes on against designated timelines.
Support collaboration and innovation initiatives by exploring new materials, silhouettes, graphics, and construction approaches that challenge conventions while respecting brand integrity.
Present work clearly and confidently to internal stakeholders, articulating design rationale, cultural insight, and execution choices.
Manage design presentations and communicate concepts effectively to cross-functional partners, ensuring projects maintain creative intent while meeting business timelines, operational requirements, and brand standards.
