Division Description:

ITW Electronics Assembly Equipment (EAE) Division is made up of four brands strongly recognized by Contract Manufacturers and OEMs in the Electronics and Industrial Markets. The Division designs, develops, manufactures, and markets capital equipment primarily used in the assembly process of Printed Circuit Boards (PCBs) and other industrial applications.

Position summary:

As a member of the Division Leadership Team, the Global Engineering Director will be highly involved in helping define and implement the strategic direction for the EA Equipment Segment within ITW EAE. This position will lead Customer Back Innovation (CBI) initiatives to create, develop and deploy equipment used in the assembly process of PCBs. This role is responsible for leading and managing a global team of Hardware, Software, Project Management, Product Technology and Training managers.

What You will Do:

  • Lead Customer Back Innovation (CBI) within the EA Equipment Segment

  • Align engineering initiatives with Annual Plan (AP) and Long Rang Plan (LRP) strategies while serving as an active and collaborative member of the leadership team.

  • Convert customer insights into clear value propositions, and along with technical requirements, create strategically aligned product roadmaps and development plans.

  • Drive CBI phase gate process to ensure project delivery and effective resource management.

  • Establish Global Engineering Excellence by leading and motivating a high-performing team grounded in curiosity, innovation and continuous improvement.

  • Provide strategic clarity to engineering leadership, ensuring focus on delivering results aligned to segment strategy.

  • Develop and grow the team through regular development conversations and align talent to career growth opportunities.

  • Promote standardization, scalability and best-practice sharing across regions.

  • Guide product development, innovation and technology strategies to enhance competitiveness and support long-term growth.

  • Research and understand our market space, competitors, and customers.

  • Incorporate technology development initiatives into our CBI pipeline.

  • Champion Continuous Improvement, cost reduction, and operational efficiency across our product suite.

  • Directs product life cycle from concept, to design, to mass production, and to end of product life.

  • Promote, support, and adhere to all safety, environmental and quality related policies and procedures.

  • Develop strategies to optimize R&D costs and support Operating Income (OI) improvement over Long Range Plan (LRP) period.

What We Are Looking For:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering.
  • 10-15 years of global business experience in a B2B manufacturing environment.
  • Demonstrated success leading multi-site or global engineering teams, driving standardization, scalability, and best-practice sharing across regions.
  • Strategic divisional leadership - ability to align functional priorities/strategy aligned to division goals/strategy and collaborate across the Division Leadership team to drive implementation
  • Continuous improvement leadership - proven ability to embed continuous improvement principles with engineering processes, ensuring execution discipline, measurable results, and sustainable performance gains.
  • Experience in P&L management/accountability or sufficient understanding to optimize R&D costs.
  • Ability to develop high-performing teams, build technical depth, strengthen leadership capability, and foster a culture of engagement and accountability.

  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Strong IT skills - all MS packages, intermediate to advanced level on PowerPoint and Excel

Compensation Information:

The pay rate will depend on the successful candidate's qualifications and prior experience. The range for this position is :$150,000 - $210,000 (annually).
