Job Description

About the Role:

As a Global Medical Insights Lead within Takeda's Medical Digital, Data, and Technology (DDT) team, you will drive the digital strategy, product ownership, and definition of solutions that power the Insights ecosystem within Takeda's Medical Nucleus working in close collaboration with the Engagement and Evidence Ecosystem Leads. In Takeda's connected, closed-loop medical ecosystem, engagement generates actionable insights — and insights inform both evidence and engagement strategy. This role focuses at the insights ecosystem but works at the intersection of the two ecosystems (Engagement and Insights), ensuring that the platforms, data, and AI-enabled capabilities that underpin HCP & KOL engagement, omnichannel delivery, content excellence, and medical insights capture and analysis are strategically aligned, technically sound, and delivering measurable impact across the Nucleus Ecosystems.

Business partnering is at the heart of your success. You will work closely with Global Medical Affairs, Global DD&T, IBU/ USBU Medical teams, and cross-functional stakeholders to ensure medical strategy and digital and AI solutions deliver actionable and impactful insights. Your collaborative relationships will be critical in driving both product strategy and execution.

This role requires a balance of operational excellence and DD&T innovation, as well as the leadership to guide global stakeholders on a shared journey toward digital transformation that addresses business needs and delivers sustainable impact. This role directly impacts the Global Medical DD&T operating model, shaping insights standards, governance, and ways of working across Global, US, and IBU regions. Through the Insights Ecosystem roadmap the role influences investment and prioritization decisions across the Medical Nucleus ecosystem. This role will also champion Takeda's Associate Director Leadership Behaviors, embodying agility, collaboration, and strategic decision-making in all aspects of this role.

Responsibilities:

Engagement & Insights Strategy and Leadership

  • Define and own the digital vision, strategy, and product roadmap for insights capabilities aligned with the Medical DDT team's objectives and the overall Medical Nucleus ecosystem model in close collaboration with the Global Medical DD&T Head of Medical Ecosystems.
  • Define and report on key metrics and KPIs for the Insights Ecosystem.
  • Lead the end-to-end product lifecycle for key platforms such as medical insights (Veeva Medical Insights, MINA) and influence working closely together with the Engagement Ecosystem Lead  for platforms for HCP & KOL engagement (e.g., CRM, Link Key People, Takeda Connect, TMDx, CX of the Future), omnichannel engagement and content excellence (Content Generation, MARV).
  • Prioritize product features and initiatives (including backlog items) in collaboration with cross-functional stakeholders, ensuring alignment with Takeda's Medical Nucleus strategy and measurable impact. Lead the Insights Ecosystem Cross-functional Squad team.
  • Act as the key decision-maker and liaison between business teams, development partners, and end-users for assigned capabilities.
  • Champion the closed-loop ecosystem principle: ensure that engagement activities generate structured, high-quality insights, and that insights feed back into engagement strategy and evidence planning.

Operational Excellence

  • Ensure exceptional execution in the design, delivery, and maintenance of digital tools by adhering to rigorous Takeda quality standards and industry regulations.
  • Drive continuous improvement through metrics-based analysis, KPI tracking, and enhanced workflows across engagement and insights platforms.
  • Leverage Agile principles (including SAFe) to create high-performing, scalable, and compliant solutions deployed across Global, US and IBU.
  • Balance cost, quality, and timelines, ensuring delivery excellence across a portfolio of engagement and insights capabilities.
  • Manage vendor relationships, contracts, and external partnerships ensuring alignment to Takeda's vision and quality standards.

Innovation

  • Introduce and implement transformative technologies — including AI/ML, GenAI-driven insights generation, predictive analytics, decision support engine, next-best-engagement engines — to accelerate medical decision making and insight utilization.
  • Collaborate with global innovation teams to identify and champion new tools, methodologies, and vendor partnerships that position Takeda as a leader in insights driven medical decision making.
  • Drive adoption of AI-enabled capabilities such as, decision support engine, content suggestion engines, and LLM-enhanced insights analysis.
  • Maintain forward-thinking foresight into emerging technologies, ensuring products position Takeda as a healthcare industry leader.

Stakeholder Engagement & Cross-Functional Partnering

  • Partner with global teams across Medical Affairs (Medical Strategy Teams, Field Medical, Medical Communications, Medical Information), Global DD&T, Legal, Compliance, and Regional Medical to align priorities with business value.
  • Translate complex business needs into actionable product specifications and user stories for technical teams.
  • Support the Global Medical Insights Framework governance, including alignment with the Insights Committee and cross-functional feedback loops between Global and LOCs.
  • Collaborate with the Digital Medical Committee (DMC) to ensure investment decisions are transparent, value-driven, and aligned with the Impact Measurement Framework.

Leadership Behaviors:

Aligned to the Associate Director level, you will exemplify:

  • Lead Change with Agility: Drive results in a dynamic, fast-paced environment while remaining adaptable to new challenges or priorities.
  • Influence with Integrity: Build trust and alignment across diverse teams globally to deliver on shared objectives. Leading innovation while working in a trustworthy and compliant way.

  • Strategic Decision-Making: Innovatively balance long-term strategy with immediate operational needs, ensuring sustainable success.
  • Continuous Development: Commit to personal growth while inspiring and mentoring team members.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Life Sciences, Data Science, Computer Science, or a related field; MBA or equivalent an advantage.
  • 7+ years of experience in digital product ownership, technology leadership, or Medical Affairs operations, with experience in the pharma or healthcare sectors preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of CRM systems, engagement platforms, medical insights tools, and data/digital technologies (e.g., AI/ML, data platforms, cloud environments), with a passion for leveraging them to create business value.
  • Proven track record in delivering innovative digital solutions while maintaining adherence to pharmaceutical industry standards (e.g., GxP, GDPR, HIPAA).
  • Expertise in Agile frameworks and related tools (SAFe certification or similar is a plus).
  • Experience managing external vendors/partners and global deployment across multiple regions.
