Collaborate with Innovative 3Mers Around the World

Choosing where to start and grow your career has a major impact on your professional and personal life, so it’s equally important you know that the company that you choose to work at, and its leaders, will support and guide you. With a wide variety of people, global locations, technologies and products, 3M is a place where you can collaborate with other curious, creative 3Mers.

This position provides an opportunity to transition from other private, public, government or military experience to a 3M career

The Impact You’ll Make in this Role

As the Global Product International Business Development Manager, you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative people around the world. Here, you will make an impact by:

  • Owning the product lifecycle across multiple geographies-launch, growth, maturity, renovation, and phase-out-ensuring alignment with market requirements, retailer calendars, regulatory needs, and global pack-price architecture.
  • Leading international product roadmap execution by partnering with global and regional R&D, supply chain, and commercial teams to deliver innovations on time, on cost, and on quality.
  • Identifying and quantifying global-to-local replication opportunities, including formula, pack, and design harmonization. Build and maintain a common global product catalogue with clear guidance on which SKUs scale, adapt, or remain market‑specific.
  • Optimizing international portfolio performance through pricing, SKU mix, margin management, and trade spend effectiveness, leveraging syndicated data, local POS analytics, and global shopper insights.
  • Building business cases and market-entry forecasts using elasticity analysis, price/mix modeling, and demand planning tools, informing investment prioritization across regions.
  • Translating global and local customer, consumer, and market insights into actionable product decisions-refining packaging, claims, positioning, and activation for varied regional needs.
  • Monitoring international product performance across financial, operational, and in‑market KPIs; lead corrective actions across markets to manage risks, seize opportunities, and maintain momentum.
  • Partnering with regional teams to ensure consistent go-to-market activation, retailer engagement, and e-commerce standards, while adjusting for regional shopper behaviors.

Your Skills and Expertise  To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher (completed and verified prior to start)
  • Seven (7) years’ experience in marketing management in a private, public, government or military environment
  • Seven (7) years of project management and/or cross-functional team leadership

Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:

  • MBA or graduate degree from an accredited university, with focus on marketing, strategy, business development, and/or innovation
  • Strong financial and business acumen.
  • Ability to apply deep market and customer/consumer insight by leveraging syndicated and local data, shopper panels, and digital shelf metrics to guide decisions.
  • Previous experience working on consumer products portfolios, managing the global‑to‑local product lifecycle and innovation or emerging technologies/platforms
  • Previous experience as a Project Manager engaging with cross‑functional leadership.
  • Previous experience leading initiatives across multiple regions, adapting global strategies to diverse market, regulatory, and customer environments.

Work location:

  • Work location: This role follows an on-site working model, requiring the employee to work at least four days a week out of a 3M Office Location
  • Travel: May include up to 25% domestic/international
  • Relocation: May be authorized
