Job Description
Purpose:
The Global Sourcing Program Manager plays a role in advancing Floor and Decor's Global Sourcing Model, driving growth and regional diversification. This position serves as a key liaison among Supply Chain, Sourcing Office, Merchandising, and Legal teams to analyze the benefits and complexities associated with sourcing from different countries and regions for each product category. By leveraging this information, the Global Sourcing Program Manager will establish effective global support structures and implement best practices that optimize sourcing strategies. Additionally, the role involves monitoring significant regional events that may impact Floor and Decor, while also ensuring the effective management and documentation of product quality assurance and remediation processes on a day-to-day basis.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree (or equivalent work experience)
Minimum of 3+ years of relevant work experience in Global Sourcing, Merchandising, or International Supply Chain Experience in managing, developing, and executing international supply chain and global sourcing strategies
In-depth knowledge of sourcing, logistics, supplier qualification processes, and supplier management/performance metrics
Demonstrated ability to work cross-functionally within an organization and globally with suppliers and third-party partners
Excellent communication skills, including experience in delivering presentations
Strong customer service skills and have proven success in working in a fast-paced environment
Strong negotiation, tactical planning, and data analysis skills
A strategic thinker who understands the big picture and can develop programs and processes that capture the true potential and opportunities that may exist - an "Out of the Box Thinker."
Ability to make sound business judgments related to supply management philosophies and initiatives
Desired, but not required
Training in Six Sigma
Retail industry experience/knowledge
Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing Principles
Essential Job Functions:
Enhance FND's global sourcing model by identifying the optimal location structure to establish a consistent global supply chain support system to facilitate ongoing growth.
Utilize supplier capabilities to enhance product design, reduce costs, shorten lead times, address competitive claims, and promote sustainability.
Assess regional manufacturing and supply chain capabilities and challenges globally by product category and establish and update risk assessments.
Maintain awareness of world markets and emerging material-related issues in the industry and position the supply chain to flexibly respond accordingly
Communicate concerns and impacts to internal business partners along with proposed mitigation plans.
Work cross-functionally with Merchandising to determine production needs and evaluate alternate sourcing opportunities
Deploy procedures governing all aspects of global sourcing (product procurement, planning, and supplier development), supporting F&D's global supply chain excellence, customer satisfaction, merchandising leadership, and store operating philosophy initiatives
Lead the development, implementation, and enhancement of all global sourcing best practices across all locations to ensure compliance with company requirements, applicable laws, regulations, and industry standards
Leverage technology solutions to maximize the effectiveness and efficiency of the strategic sourcing process cross-functionally; implement technical solutions to support all areas of global sourcing to support the growth of the company
Build and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers. Create effective programs and processes to maintain "best in class" supplier performance
Evaluate and document cost/benefit trade-offs between prevention, detection, and failure response activities
Secondary Functions
Assist in managing policies and standard operating procedures (SOPs) related to supplier compliance
Alert Merchandising team of any product non-compliance, respond promptly to detected offenses, develop corrective action plans, and report findings via established channels
Administer the F&D Vendor Compliance Credit/Back-charge programs
Assist in developing monthly Executive Reports tracking remediation and projects
Working Conditions (travel, environment):
Frequent travel required, including air and car travel
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to a warehouse environment and moving vehicles. The work environment is typically moderately noisy.
Physical/Sensory Requirements
- Sedentary Work - Ability to exert 10 - 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or negligible amount of force frequently to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time but may also include walking or standing for brief periods.
