This is an exciting opportunity in Indianapolis, IN for a Global Supply Chain Planner.

Summary:

This individual plans and schedules component material to ensure on time availability to meet production and service schedules while optimizing inventory levels.

Responsibilities:

  • Use SAP to set planning parameters by part number to optimize inventory levels and assure availability.
  • Communicate daily with internal and external suppliers to ensure adherence to schedules and uninterrupted flow of material.
  • Determine delivery issues and manage MRP exception messages.
  • Monitor external supplier delivery performance.
  • Manage engineering change implementation.
  • Optimize inventory with the objectives of increasing inventory turns, reducing inventory investment, and minimizing excess and obsolete material.
  • Minimize premium freight expense policy.
  • Frequent contact with others outside the work group.
  • Follow-up and confirmation of established plans from suppliers
  • Become escalation contact as required for multiple plant risks and prioritize schedule at supplier.
  • Manage internal controls and process risk management requirements.
  • Manage international plants material pipeline (Hungary/India)
  • Manage high risk/multi plant support supply risks
  • Understand impacts and communicate high level summaries of risks to stakeholders
  • Lead cross functional teams.

Experience:

  • Required Education: Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience
  • Knowledge of pull systems / Kanban preferred.
  • Knowledge / experience with SAP or similar ERP systems preferred
  • Knowledge of scheduling and inventory control systems and processes preferred
  • Knowledge of basic math.
  • Oral and written communication skills.
  • Analytical ability for solving complex problems.
  • Interpersonal skills to work effectively with others, motivate employees and elicit work output.
  • Knowledge of safety and environmental practices.
  • Strong computer skills including excel.
  • Ability to adapt to changes in responsibility based on business needs.
  • Willing to work any shift assigned.
  • Minimum 5 years' related experience required.
  • APICS CPIM certification preferred.
