Job Description

About Helion

We are a fusion power company based in Everett, WA, with the mission to build the world's first fusion power plant, enabling a future with unlimited clean electricity. Our vision is a world with clean, reliable, and affordable energy for everyone.

Since Helion's founding in 2013, we have raised over $1 billion from long-time investors such as Sam Altman, Mithril, and Capricorn Investment Group as well as new investors SoftBank and Lightspeed to propel us forward. Our last prototype, Trenta, completed 10,000 high-power pulses and reached plasma temperatures of 100 million degrees Celsius (9 keV). We are now operating Polaris, our next prototype on the path to the world's first fusion power plant.

This is a pivotal time to join Helion. You will tackle real-world challenges with a team that prizes urgency, rigor, ownership, and a commitment to delivering hard truths - values essential to achieving what no one has before. Together, we will change the future of energy, because the world can't wait.

What You Will Be Doing:

We are seeking a proactive and technically minded Global Supply Manager to join our growing team. You'll collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to source and procure custom electronics, ensuring suppliers meet our quality, price and delivery requirements. This position offers the opportunity to lead key initiatives that strengthen our supply chain and vendor partnerships. This is an onsite role that reports directly to the Manager of Sourcing and Procurement at our Everett, WA office.

You Will

  • Source electronic components and assemblies in collaboration with engineering and production. Drive BOM cost reductions and secure vendor capacity to support schedule requirements.

  • Identify new vendors and maintain strong relationships with existing vendors to develop a diverse and robust supply chain.

  • Lead bidding efforts. Negotiate contract terms and manage existing contracts with vendors including manufacturing service agreements, stocking programs, non-disclosure agreements, etc.

  • Lead initiatives and projects cross-functionally.

  • Create purchase orders, resolve invoice and receiving snags. Maintain accurate ERP vendor and open order data.

Required Skills:

  • Master's degree or equivalent years of experience in sourcing, contracting & supplier management

  • Proven track record of scaling supplier spend into the $100M+ range, including establishing long-term strategic partnerships in technically complex, capital-intensive environments

  • Experience supporting complex electromechanical, pulsed-power, high-voltage, or semiconductor in energy, aerospace, or advanced manufacturing environments

  • Direct experience working with engineering teams through rapid design iteration, ambiguous specifications, and evolving requirements

  • Familiarity with capital equipment sourcing, including precision machining, specialty metals, ceramics, composites, and advanced electronics

  • Experience developing and qualifying new suppliers for novel technologies industries

  • Strong understanding of supplier risk management, including long lead-time mitigation, sole-source strategies, and make-vs-buy analysis

  • Experience scaling from R&D and prototype builds into pilot and early production, while maintaining schedule discipline

  • Ability to operate effectively in a mission-driven, high-urgency startup culture, balancing speed, rigor, and cost

  • Experience supporting a global supply base, with knowledge of domestic supplier ecosystems and export/control considerations

  • Demonstrated ability to influence senior technical leaders and program managers through data-driven trade studies and sourcing recommendations

  • Experience mentoring junior sourcing or supply chain team members
