Job Description

Job Title: General Manager 

Salary: $150,000 - $200,000 per year

Position Overview: We are seeking an experienced General Manager to oversee all aspects of our grain elevator operations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in grain handling, logistics, and personnel management, with a proven track record of optimizing operational efficiency, developing growth plans, and driving profitability.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage daily operations of the grain elevator, ensuring safety and compliance with industry standards.
  • Develop and implement strategic growth plans to enhance operational efficiency and profitability.
  • Oversee grain handling, storage, and shipping processes, maintaining high quality and safety standards.
  • Manage and train staff, fostering a collaborative and productive work environment.
  • Build and maintain relationships with farmers, suppliers, and customers.
  • Analyze market trends and adjust strategies accordingly to maximize revenue.
  • Prepare and manage budgets, ensuring financial targets are met.
  • Monitor and report on operational performance metrics, making recommendations for improvements.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture, Business Management, or a related field; MBA preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of operations experience in grain elevator operations or a related industry.
  • Proven ability to create and execute growth plans.
  • Strong leadership skills with a focus on team development.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Proficient in financial management and budgeting.
  • Knowledge of safety regulations and best practices in the grain industry.
