Job Description

At eBay, we're more than a global ecommerce leader - we're changing the way the world shops and sells. Our platform empowers millions of buyers and sellers in more than 190 markets around the world. We're committed to pushing boundaries and leaving our mark as we reinvent the future of ecommerce for enthusiasts.

Our customers are our compass, authenticity thrives, bold ideas are welcome, and everyone can bring their unique selves to work - every day. We're in this together, sustaining the future of our customers, our company, and our planet.

Join a team of passionate thinkers, innovators, and dreamers - and help us connect people and build communities to create economic opportunity for all.

About the team and the role:

At eBay, we are reinventing the future of commerce. To help power that vision, we are seeking a Finance Manager to join our world-class finance team! As part of our Global Marketplace Experience (GMX) finance team, you will play a meaningful role in supporting our GMX organization with responsibility for financial consolidation, strategic OPEX and resource management, and driving operational excellence. You will also serve as a strategic finance partner to the COO organization, leveraging data driven insights to inform more accurate forecasting and hiring. If you thrive in fast-paced environments, excel at managing competing priorities, and have a passion for delivering meaningful business impact, this role is for you!

What you will accomplish:

  • Lead end-to-end FP&A activities: Ownership of COO/GMX financial budgeting, forecasting, consolidations, month end close processes and ad-hoc analyses. Ensure accuracy, timeliness and efficiencies across deliverables, while finding opportunities to improve and optimize processes.

  • Drive operational excellence and opex discipline: Implement AI into financial planning processes and refine financial planning tools, processes, and frameworks with a strong focus on operational efficiency.

  • Deliver actionable insights: Develop, maintain, and deliver reporting packages and dashboards that provide senior leadership with clear, data-driven insights. Highlight trends, risks, and opportunities, enabling proactive decision-making and resource allocation.

  • Be a trusted business partner: Collaborate closely with business, finance, and corporate stakeholders to agree on goals, integrate initiatives, and ensure consistency across functions. Provide financial guidance and challenge assumptions constructively to support business strategies.

  • Streamline and simplify: Standardize financial planning and reporting processes to reduce duplication and non-value-added work. Consolidate multiple inputs and priorities into clear, actionable recommendations.

What you will bring:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Business, Finance, Economics, or Accounting

  • 5+ years of finance experience with exposure to different areas (business analysis, accounting, FP&A, etc.)

  • Experience with financial systems such as Anaplan, SAP 4 HANA, SAP BPC, SAP BW, etc. (preferred)

  • Experience working with AI tools such as Gemini, ChatGPT, Glean and others to implement and enhance existing processes (preferred)

  • Ability to demonstrate data and analytics driven points of view and impact decision making at all levels of the organization

  • Strong interpersonal skills and a proven track record to partner effectively with all functions and levels within the organization

  • Ability to perform in a matrixed organization supporting multiple partners across different geographies, working through a high degree of complexity and ambiguity

  • The ideal candidate will have robust financial analysis capabilities, including building and maintaining financial models, with a strong technical ability in spreadsheets and presentations
