The Opportunity

Want to own a portfolio of high-profile Federal Government customers and be the person who turns relationships into growth?

Join our Government Sales team as a Business Development Manager and take ownership of new business growth across a portfolio of named Federal Government agencies.

This is a true hunter role. You'll be responsible for identifying opportunities, opening doors, building trusted relationships and ultimately winning new business - backed by a strong team of technical, commercial and product specialists who know how to deliver.

You'll have the autonomy to run your territory and own the sales cycle end-to-end, while having the support and capability of a broader technology organisation behind you.

We're looking for someone who knows how to win. Someone who is commercially driven, persistent and confident engaging with senior stakeholders - but understands that the best sales relationships are built by creating genuine value for customers.

Our government customers typically stay with us for the long term. That's not by accident. It comes from understanding their challenges, bringing the right solutions to the table and becoming a trusted technology partner.

If you're motivated by new business, big opportunities, senior relationships and the satisfaction of seeing a deal through from first conversation to close, this could be your next move.

Based in Canberra or Sydney.

Why Us?

  • We're Australia's Great Place to Work 2026 certified for 3 years in a row.

  • For the third year in a row, we have been named a Global Winner of the 2026 Gallup Exceptional Workplace Award!

  • Over 42% of Australian government agencies use and trust us. They depend on us to protect them from private and state-sponsored cyber attackers.

  • We have the highest Net Promoter Score on the ASX, the World's best customer experience & crowned in 2020 at the World Communications Awards.

  • You'll make an impact: Enjoy being part of a driven team with a collaborative culture that values decision-makers and action.

  • We Invest in you: Accelerate your career through our learning and development opportunities - think Gallup strengths-based training, defined career pathways and fantastic internal mobility opportunities across the group.

  • A dynamic and supportive team that values smart thinking.

  • A workplace where your business insights are celebrated.

About You

You're an established technology sales professional who loves the chase.

You know how to open doors, build credibility quickly and turn relationships into commercial outcomes. You're equally comfortable developing a cold opportunity, navigating a complex government environment or sitting across the table from a senior executive.

Most importantly, you have a proven track record of winning.

  • 5+ years' experience in successful technology sales, with a consistent record of achieving or exceeding quota.
  • Proven experience building and growing relationships across the Federal Government sector.
  • Demonstrated success in new business development and complex solution sales.
  • Comfortable developing business cases and influencing senior executives, including CIOs, CFOs and CEOs.
  • Strong commercial acumen and the ability to identify where the real opportunity lies.
  • Exceptional communication, negotiation and presentation skills.
  • Highly driven, resilient and persistent, with the confidence to keep pushing when the deal gets difficult.
  • Strong ownership mentality - you manage your pipeline, your relationships and your results.
  • A genuine customer-first mindset and the ability to create value beyond simply selling a product.

Desirable experience and skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Sales, Business, Technology or a related discipline.
  • Experience with recognised sales methodologies such as Miller Heiman, SPIN or Challenger.
  • Strong research skills and an ability to stay ahead of emerging technology, networking and industry trends.
  • Proven experience taking accounts from low revenue to high growth.
  • Existing networks and relationships across Federal Government would be highly regarded.
