Position Title:

Graduate Assistant- Continuing Studies (Marketing & Social Media- Frederick Campus)

Job Description:

The Graduate Assistant provides support for the Frederick campus. The GA reports to the Executive Assistant to the Associate Provost and is primarily responsible for social media marketing and support of recruitment for the Division of Continuing Studies.The GA will also be called upon to perform a wide variety of office tasks as needed such as answering phones, supporting events, mail distribution and supporting all Frederick staff as needed.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Create graphics and designs using Canva and other media design software.
  • Develop and manage a strategic social media plan, including the creation and editing of posts and engaging with the Mount’s community partners via liking, commenting, and sharing when appropriate.
  • Learn the Mount’s brand standards and represent the Mount’s brand responsibly on social media.
  • Support the Division’s recruitment efforts by creating marketing materials and attending events on and off campus, representing the Division of Continuing Studies as necessary.
  • Work collaboratively with the Associate Director of Recruitment and marketing intern(s) to schedule timely social media posts based on upcoming events.
  • Manage the front desk, including triaging phone calls for the Frederick campus and providing administrative support.
  • Conduct research as needed.
  • Work with our Events Coordinator with planning and coordinating events which includes set-up and tear-down.

Job Requirements: Education, Experience and Skills:

  • Must be accepted into a graduate program at Mount St. Mary’s University.
  • Bachelor’s Degree Required
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office products: Word, Excel, and Outlook.

Salary/Hours/Benefits

  • A stipend of $6000 per academic year.
  • 20 hours per week for 9 months (August – May)
  • Tuition Remission Benefits (2 courses in the fall and 2 courses in the spring).
