Responsible for the coordination and oversight of projects and ongoing programs with Sanford Medical Education. Serves as high-level resource to Medical Education leadership as well as subject matter expert on program management and regulatory standards.Job Description
Oversees all aspects of assigned medical education program, including resident/fellowship recruitment, onboarding, and evaluation; establishing plans, timelines, negotiation and delegation of tasks; data management; monitoring of progress toward established deadlines; and summarization of reports and evaluations. Guides team to maintain strategic priorities and compliance with Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) Common and Specialty Program requirements. Establishes and maintains effective working relationships and communication with team members, academic partners, committees, students, resident physicians, fellows, internal and external stakeholders, and other system departments.Possesses knowledge of both external accreditation standards and internal policies for programs specific to individual's area of responsibility. With limited guidance, determines methods and approaches to priorities, scope, and timelines for own work with program objectives and the mission and goals of the organization. Demonstrates the ability to plan, organize, develop, implement and interpret program goals, objectives, policies and procedures that are necessary for a comprehensive program. Provides guidance and direction to leaders, administrators, other educators, and/or health team members to successfully meet regulations and goals. Acts as a liaison between the organization and applicable academic institutions.Works independently with limited direction on day-to-day work. Possesses the ability to demonstrate interpersonal skills, such as interacting effectively with other health care professionals, physicians, upper-level management, regulatory agency staff, etc.. Demonstrates initiative, resourcefulness, and problem-solving skills. Accepts increased complexity of work assignments, process improvement projects/initiatives that may be cross-departmental or system-wide with limited guidance.Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in a healthcare, education, business, or related field is required. In lieu of education, leadership may accept four years of applicable experience. Master’s degree preferred. Five years of related experience required.
