Job Description

The Basics

Location: Must be flexible to work at any of Bartlett's grain elevators throughout the Midwest, mobility is key. Final placement is to be determined.Compensation: Competitive salary based on experienceDays/Hours: The hours worked for this job will vary depending on activity, the location where you are working, and business needs. You will be required to work weekends and off shifts as needed.Equipment Used: Various grain handling equipment, mainly conveyors, legs, dust systems, dryers, railcars, locomotives etc.Material Handled: Bulk commodities: wheat, corn, soybeans, sorghum etc.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:In this position you will develop the skills to safely and efficiently lead our Teams, while promoting a culture grounded in safety behaviors, strong leadership, and continuous improvement focused around 5 core operating fundamentals.

Structured technical training will be providedWill be required to obtain applicable certifications such as fumigation license, weighers and graders license, OSHA 10 etc. within the first 180 daysAccompany both the Safety and Reliability Teams during assessmentsParticipate in Team Member engagement including leading growth discussions and leadership conversationsAttend company leadership trainings focused on safety, leadership, and hiring and onboardingProvide leadership, support and accountability for the implementation of all required safety, regulatory and company programs and/or protocolsConduct quarterly Team Member reviews and perform Team Member observationsCollaborate with leaders to coordinate timing of maintenance and repairsOversee elevator operationsSchedule and lead Team MembersPerform safety inspections, monitor facility operations and quality controlsEffectively communicate tasks, directives, and policies with both senior management and supervised Team MembersAbility to read and comprehend both written and oral operational and safety rules, policies and procedures, and to communicate clearly with fellow Team Members and leadersThis position is expected to spend time at different locations to develop leadership skills while providing exposure to other facilities, equipment, and operations.

Required Education and Experience:

High school diploma or equivalent. College education with course of study in agriculture or business administration is preferredMust have the ability to work in a team environment, to interact with all levels of operational management and regulatory agenciesMust be proficient in Microsoft Office applicationsWork experience requiring strict adherence to regulatory requirements is preferredWork experience related to inventory management and product quality programs is preferred

Here are some of the physical requirements for this role:

Ability to handle physically strenuous tasksYou will work in tight and confined spacesYou will work at heightsYou will need the ability to frequently lift, push and pull up to 50 pounds and occasionally moreThis job will require the ability to ascend/descend ladders and stairs

Ability to detect odors and understand/discern safety warning systemsYou will be required to wear PPE which will include respirators in certain situationsWill be exposed to the weather, including extreme heat and/or cold, wind, rain, snow, and other adverse weather conditionsMust be able to walk for extended periods of time over uneven surfacesWill be exposed to various site hazards, including but not limited to loud noises and flashing lights, dust and fumes, hazardous materials, heavy equipment and machinery, and other situations specific to the work and location
