Graphic Designer

Pearl Abyss America, Inc. – the team behind Black Desert and the upcoming titles Crimson Desert and DokeV – is seeking a high-performing, innovative, and quality-obsessed Graphic Designer to help accelerate our gaming reach to millions of players across all platforms (PC and Console) in North America. 

The video game industry is transforming how players are entertained, communicate with each other, and interact online on their digital devices. Our team is looking for a Graphic Designer who is versatile and adaptable to various art styles across a range of assets. You will be responsible for creating high-quality animated and non-animated graphics to complement our videos and streams, enhance event images and promotions, and support other initiatives as required. 

Our Graphic Designers are highly collaborative, creative, and results-oriented. They must also be well-organized to adhere to production schedules and meet deadlines. This position offers an unparalleled opportunity to ensure all of Pearl Abyss' current and future titles will achieve North American goals. 

LOCATION: Manhattan Beach, CA (on-site) 

JOB TYPE: Full-time 

PAY RANGE: $27 - $30 per hour

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Design and create a wide variety of digital graphics such as marketing assets, social media images, live stream assets, video overlays and thumbnails, and much more 
• Develop graphic briefs to facilitate requests from cross-functional teams 
• Assist in the creation of brand style guides for social media and marketing assets 
• Be a key collaborator in upcoming creative and social media campaigns 
• Effectively prioritize and manage multiple projects within design specifications 
• Retouch and polish image art assets 
• Stay up to date on the latest social media trends in the gaming and pop culture space 
• Provide audio/visual support for marketing events, promotions, and campaigns, including filming and still photography 

*May require weekend and evening hours 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor's degree in graphic design, animation, media arts, or related field 
• 3-5 years of experience in graphic design, preferably in the video game industry. Agency and freelance experience is welcome! 
• Proficiency in Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator 
• Strong understanding of typography, layouts, color theory, and composition 
• Ability to adapt as creative assignments change and evolve while maintaining quality 
• Ability to work under tight deadlines and manage multiple projects simultaneously 
• Strong attention to detail, creativity, and storytelling skills 
• Ability to prioritize and manage projects at the same time 
• All applications must be accompanied by a portfolio in order to be considered 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Motion graphic skills are a plus, but not required. 
• Experience with the full Adobe Creative Cloud 
• Avid Black Desert player 
• Passion for video games with an interest in MMORPGs
