Position Summary:

NWH is the premier Hardwood Lumber producer in the industry, serving furniture, cabinet, molding, and millwork segments worldwide. We operate manufacturing facilities throughout the United States. As a Glacial procurement staff member, you will report directly to the Director of Procurement.

Green Lumber Sales and Procurement Glacial Region

Location: Grand Rapids, MI and Dorchester, WI

Position Summary:

NWH is the premier Hardwood Lumber producer in the industry, serving furniture, cabinet, molding, and millwork segments worldwide. We operate manufacturing facilities throughout the United States. As a Glacial procurement staff member, you will report directly to the Director of Procurement.

Key Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Purchase green lumber based on monthly goals
  • Price negotiations
  • Complaint resolution
  • Manage and grow supplier relationships
  • Sell low-grade lumber and mill by-products
  • Help maintain target inventories

Basic Qualifications:

  • College degree with at least 5 years of practical lumber industry experience preferred or equivalent employment experience desired.
  • Competent computer skills
  • Ability to travel on a regular basis.
  • Capable of working in a team environment and alone with little supervision.
  • Excellent analytic and negotiation skills
  • Strong commitment to personal, team, and supplier/contractor safety.
  • Strong skills in problem solving
  • Must have a clean driving record from Bureau of Motor Vehicles
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and strong communication skills - written and oral.
  • Ability to develop peer-to-peer relationships.

Compensation

Salary is commensurate to the candidates' experience in the field of lumber sales and procurement. Mileage/Travel expense program is in addition to the salary offer.
