Job Description

Position Summary

The Grocery Manager oversees the store's dry grocery, dairy, frozen foods, and bulk operations, ensuring smooth execution. The Grocery Manager will focus on delivering an exceptional customer experience while driving sales, maintaining accurate inventory levels, and ensuring the center store departments are well-stocked, organized and visually appealing. As a Manager on Duty (MOD), this position plays a key role in the overall success of the store.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise and support grocery team members, including scheduling, training, coaching, and performance management. 
  • Work closely with vendor partners to maintain optimal stock levels and minimize inventory shrink 
  • Ensure shelves, displays, and promotional areas are well-stocked, organized, clean, and visually appealing.
  • Monitor sales trends and department performance to maximize profitability and minimize inventory shrink. 
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA policies, food safety regulations, and company policies. 
  • Work closely with the leadership team to deliver on merchandising and promotional objectives.
  • Resolve operational issues quickly to maintain service levels.
  • Analyze daily and weekly reports to identify opportunities and implement corrective actions.
  • Serve as Manager‑on‑Duty (MOD) as needed.

Requirements

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of relevant industry experience
  • Basic knowledge of computers, POS systems, and cash handling procedures
  • Strong understanding of store operations, merchandising, inventory management, and labor planning
  • Proven ability to lead teams, coach performance, and build a positive culture
  • Strong problem‑solving skills with the ability to make quick, effective decisions
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • Knowledge of DSHEA compliance standards preferred
  • High school diploma or GED required

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time; bend, and lift up to 40 lbs.
  • Comfortable working in varying temperature environments (coolers, freezers, kitchens)
