Job Description
Principal Function: The Grounds Crew position is responsible for performing gardening, landscaping, snow removal and grounds maintenance helping to provide a safe, clean and aesthetically appealing environment. Provides maintenance of irrigation systems, pathways and paved surfaces.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Duties include, but are not limited to:
- Maintains physical condition and appearance of all non-historic public areas
- Prunes trees and hedges, mows lawn, removes weeds, edges walkways and maintains exterior areas
- Mixes and applies fertilizers, pesticides, herbicides and other chemicals following manufacturer's directions and departmental guidelines
- Prepares soil for planting and maintains beds and grass around buildings
- Maintains flowers and plants in public gardens and all grounds.
- Helps perform routine road and parking lot maintenance and repair to include snow removal from parking and pedestrian areas
- Identifies and assists with exterior repairs
- Provides assistance as needed in other areas of Conner Prairie
Supervisory Responsibilities: This job has no supervisory responsibilities.
Education and/or Experience: High School diploma or equivalent preferred, but not required.
