Job Description
POSITION SUMMARY
Services existing life & health accounts. Provides support for producers to facilitate the growth of new business and to retain existing clients. Directs sales of individual life & health products.
ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS
Provides daily customer service to existing customers, documenting all conversations into the agency management system.
Discusses insurance needs with customers and advises customers on proper products to meet their particular needs. Reviews existing accounts and suggests additional coverage's.
Obtains quotes for prospects.
Negotiates terms and premiums with underwriters and has the authority to bind coverage on behalf of underwriters of various insurance agencies.
Services existing clients with day to day needs necessary for their insurance program.
Must maintain a license in good standing as required with the IN Department of Insurance.
Must have valid driver's license.
Regular and predictable attendance is an essential requirement of the position.
Responsible for the completion of all compliance training related to the position.
Understands all applicable laws and regulations that apply to the position and complies with the requirements.
NON-ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Performs all other duties as assigned.
EXPERIENCE/SKILLS
- Five (5) to ten (10) years' experience preferred.
- Previous risk management and customer service experience preferred.
- Knowledge of agency management and carrier rating systems.
- Good communication skills.
- Good PC skills--proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel essential.
- Ability to work independently to achieve sales goals.
- Attention to detail.
EDUCATION
Bachelor's Degree preferred.
LICENSES
Indiana Life & Health license required.
TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS
Ability to travel to off-site locations for meetings, projects, seminars, etc., as well as ability to travel overnight.
