Join Our Team as a Group Exercise Instructor!
Sheridan County YMCA | Sheridan, WY
Part-Time | Starting at $13.20/hour
Do you love fitness, motivating others, and creating a welcoming community? The Sheridan County YMCA is looking for enthusiastic, energetic Group Exercise Instructors to inspire members of all ages and fitness levels. Whether you teach yoga, cycling, strength, HIIT, dance fitness, senior fitness, or another specialty, we'd love to hear from you!
At the Y, you'll do more than lead workouts—you'll help people build confidence, improve their health, and find a sense of belonging.
What You'll Do
- Lead safe, fun, and engaging group fitness classes.
- Create a welcoming environment where everyone feels encouraged and supported.
- Modify exercises to accommodate different fitness levels, abilities, and health needs.
- Build authentic relationships with members and foster a strong sense of community.
- Educate participants on healthy living while staying within your scope of practice.
- Track class attendance and maintain a safe exercise environment.
- Respond appropriately to emergencies and follow YMCA policies and procedures.
We're Looking For Someone Who:
- Is at least 18 years old.
- Has a passion for health, wellness, and helping others succeed.
- Enjoys working with people from all backgrounds and abilities.
- Can motivate and inspire others with a positive attitude.
- Is dependable, professional, and a team player.
- Is willing to complete required YMCA certifications and trainings, including CPR, First Aid, Child Abuse Prevention, and emergency procedures within 90 days of hire.

Physical Requirements
This active position requires the ability to:
- Lead fitness classes safely and effectively.
- Stand, walk, bend, reach, and lift as needed during instruction.
- Demonstrate exercises and maintain an energetic teaching environment.
