Job Description

About Barkley&Co

Barkley&Co is a boutique growth studio for healthcare, wellness, and skincare brands. We work with founders and operators who need more than a media buyer or a brand consultant. They need a partner who can architect the full funnel and make it run. Our team is small, senior, and built from ex-founders and ex-in-house growth leads. We work with a portfolio of healthcare, wellness, skincare, and premium services brands across paid media, lifecycle, creative strategy, and brand.

We're hiring a Growth Lead to own client strategy and outcomes across a portfolio of accounts.

The role

You're the strategic owner for a portfolio of 4 to 6 clients. You're not just running paid media or writing email flows. You're building the full-funnel growth thesis for each brand and making sure it gets executed across Owned (lifecycle, CRM, organic), Earned (content, PR-adjacent, AEO/SEO, influencer), and Paid (Meta, Google, emerging platforms).

You'll work directly with founders and CMOs. You'll be in the account every week, but you'll also be the person who steps back and tells the client what they should actually be doing, and why. Our clients pay us because we have a point of view, not because we click buttons.

This role reports to the founder (Luke) and works alongside our existing team of specialists (paid media, creative, lifecycle).

What you'll own

  • Full-funnel strategy for 2 to 4 client accounts spanning healthcare, wellness, and skincare verticals
  • Client relationships, including weekly strategy calls, monthly business reviews, and quarterly planning. You're the trusted advisor, not the order-taker.
  • Channel orchestration across Meta, Google, Klaviyo, Customer.io, organic content, and creator/UGC programs. You don't need to be the hands-on expert in every channel, but you need to know what good looks like and direct specialists accordingly.
  • Performance accountability. You set the KPIs, you defend the numbers, and you flag when something isn't working before the client does.
  • Creative and brand judgment, reviewing ad concepts, lifecycle copy, landing pages, and brand messaging. You have taste and can articulate why something will or won't work.
  • Measurement and reporting, translating data into a narrative the client can act on across weekly pacing, monthly reviews, and quarterly strategy.
  • Growth opportunities, identifying where to expand within an account (new channels, new offers, new audiences) and partnering with the founder on scoping.

Requirements

You're a fit if you have

  • 5 to 7+ years in growth marketing, ideally a mix of agency and in-house. Pure agency backgrounds are fine; pure in-house backgrounds are fine. We care more about what you've actually owned than where you sat.
  • Real depth in at least two of the three pillars: Paid (Meta + Google), Owned (Klaviyo, Customer.io, or equivalent), and Earned (content, influencer, organic social, AEO/SEO). Plus working literacy in the third.
  • Managed meaningful paid budgets. You've personally been responsible for $50K+/month in ad spend and can speak to specific account decisions you made, not just dashboards you watched.
  • DTC or services experience in regulated or considered-purchase categories such as healthcare, wellness, beauty/skincare, supplements, or similar. HIPAA literacy is a strong plus.
  • Client-facing chops. You can run a meeting with a founder or CMO and leave them feeling like the smartest decision they made this quarter was hiring you.
  • A point of view. You can look at a brand and tell us what's broken and what to do about it in the first 30 minutes.
  • Comfort with ambiguity. We're a boutique agency, not a holdco. You'll wear multiple hats and help shape how we work.

You're probably not a fit if

  • You've only run paid media and want to keep doing only that. We have specialists for that, and this role sits above.
  • You've only done brand strategy and haven't been accountable to performance numbers.
  • You need a team of 10 under you to do good work.

Benefits

Compensation & logistics

  • Base: $80–110K depending on experience
  • Performance bonus tied to client retention and portfolio growth
  • Health, dental, vision+ 401(k)
  • In-person, full-time at our Garment District studio
