Job Description
Group Leader, Machine Shop
Precision Fuzing and Sensors is actively hiring for a Machine Shop Group Leader in Middletown, CT. This role plays a pivotal part in our Production Department with the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on schedules and organizational efficiency. The ideal candidate will have experience in supervising machine tool manufacturing personnel, while maintaining production schedules and overall machine shop supervision.
Responsibilities, in addition to performing general machinist duties:
Oversee production and employees in assigned area of the Machine ShopEnsure that production schedules are met and that all machines are running at maximum efficiencyMonitor a team of machine operators and provide training and guidance as neededEnsure that all safety procedures are followed and that all machines are properly maintained and repaired as neededMonitor inventory levels of materials and tools used in the machine shop and order supplies as neededCollaborate with other departments to coordinate production schedules and ensure that deadlines are metTroubleshoot any issues that arise during the production process and implement corrective action as neededMaintain records of production and quality metrics and report regularly to managementIdentify opportunities for process improvement and work with management to implement changesPerform first piece inspection
Qualifications
7+ years of experience in machine operation and maintenance, with experience in a supervisory role preferredStrong leadership skills and the ability to effectively communicate with team members and managementKnowledge of safety procedures and regulations related to machine operationExcellent problem-solving and decision-making abilitiesProficient in the use of tools and equipment commonly used in machine shopsAbility to read and interpret blueprints and schematicsStrong organizational and time-management skillsWillingness to work flexible hours as needed to meet production schedules
Shift: 1st Shift Monday-Friday 6:30a-3:00p
