Job Description
The Hand Occupational Therapist – Outpatient is responsible for evaluating and treating patients with upper extremity (hand and arm) conditions, helping them regain function, mobility, and independence. This role focuses on delivering specialized occupational therapy services tailored to individual patient needs in an outpatient setting.
As part of Providence Health & Services, you will work in a collaborative, patient-centered environment dedicated to whole-person care and rehabilitation excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Evaluate and treat patients with hand and upper extremity conditions
- Develop individualized therapy plans to improve function and independence
- Provide therapeutic interventions including mobility, strength, and coordination exercises
- Educate patients and families on treatment plans and home care strategies
- Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans as needed
- Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary care teams
- Maintain accurate clinical documentation
- Ensure compliance with safety, clinical, and regulatory standards
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's, Master's, or Ph.D. in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program
- Oregon Occupational Therapist License – Required upon hire
- BLS Certification (American Heart Association) – Required upon hire
- Ability to manage diverse patient conditions and treatment plans
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in hand therapy or upper extremity rehabilitation
- Outpatient therapy experience
- Strong patient care and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and within a team
