Yellow Jacket Maintenance Services (YJM) is a trusted maintenance and repair partner serving community associations (HOAs, condos, and residential properties) across the Chicagoland area. We specialize in preventative maintenance, multi-trade repairs, and property upkeep, helping protect long-term property value.
Position Overview
We are hiring a Maintenance Technician / Handyman with strong multi-trade experience to support residential and HOA properties.
This role is ideal for someone skilled in electrical, drywall, painting, and exterior repairs who takes pride in high-quality work, reliability, and professionalism.
Key Responsibilities
- Complete maintenance, repair, and installation work orders across multiple properties
- Perform electrical repairs (outlets, switches, lighting, GFCIs, ceiling fans, breaker panels)
- Handle drywall repair, patching, and installation
- Execute interior and exterior painting and staining
- Perform exterior maintenance (siding, fascia, gutters, seal coating)
- Troubleshoot and repair lighting systems and fixtures
- Maintain a clean, safe, and professional job site
- Communicate effectively with property managers and HOA clients
- Manage time efficiently and complete jobs right the first time
Preferred Skills (Nice to Have)
- Roofing experience
- Masonry experience
- Welding experience
Requirements
What You’ll Need
- Requirements
- 3–5+ years of maintenance technician, handyman, or multi-trade experience
- Experience working in residential, HOA, or property management environments
- Strong knowledge of electrical, drywall, and general repairs
- Ability to lift 50 lbs regularly (up to 100 lbs occasionally)
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
- Own basic hand tools
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills
- Ability to participate in an on-call rotation
