As a part of the global industrial organization Marmon Holdings-which is backed by Berkshire Hathaway-you'll be doing things that matter, leading at every level, and winning a better way. We're committed to making a positive impact on the world, providing you with diverse learning and working opportunities, and fostering a culture where everyone's empowered to be their best.

About The Job

Though you may not know us by name, you've most likely enjoyed meals and refreshments supported by our industry-leading brand portfolio. For decades, we've designed and manufactured foodservice equipment for some of the world's biggest, most recognized consumer brands. We are driven to innovate with a clear purpose in mind: to revolutionize the future of foodservice.

As a Hardware Engineer, you will be responsible for the design, development, and implementation of the hardware circuitry of controls and PCBAs that are embedded within our commercial foodservice appliances. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, apply engineering best practices, and contribute to the successful execution of projects. In this role, you will begin to develop technical subject-matter expertise while contributing to MFT's growth and innovation.

This role is subject to our hybrid work model: we collaborate in the office on Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday. The rest of the week, you have flexibility to work wherever it suits you best.

What You'll Do

  • Plan, manage, and execute small core or derivative programs by defining project objectives, creating project plans, and establishing timelines and milestones

  • Contribute to product development programs by driving development and validation of the product or subsystems using standard methodologies like Concept Selection, Failure Mode and Effect Analysis, and Design Validation Plans

  • Perform circuit board level design, testing, and validation for beverage/dispensing, cooking, refrigeration, frozen, or other related products

  • Lead simple 8D issue resolution projects

  • Utilize mathematical and computer-based engineering analyses to design reliable solutions for electronic systems

  • Develop technical drawings, models, and specifications using engineering software and tools

  • Conduct testing, collect and analyze data, and interpret test results to evaluate the performance, reliability, and safety of engineering solutions

  • Troubleshoot technical issues and propose areas for improvement and implement design modifications

  • Collaborate with engineers, technicians, project managers, and stakeholders, to ensure project goals are met

Who You Are

  • Independent Self-Starter: Takes prompt, proactive action to accomplish work goals with limited oversight

  • Collaborative Partner: Uses interpersonal skills to communicate effectively with cross-functional teams. Embody the practice of 'we work for each other.'

  • Strategic Thinker: Relies on analytical and problem-solving skills to think strategically and execute tactically

Skills/Experience We're Looking For

  • Experience with schematic capture, PCB layout, prototyping, debugging, verification

  • Experience with schematic capture, layout, and other design related tools and applications (e.g., Altium, Cadence, etc.)

  • Experience developing control boards with some of the following electrical components and systems: controls, sensors, touch screens/displays, motors, infotainment, power supplies, wire harness, converters, inverters, gauges, switches, etc.

  • Knowledge and understanding of engineering principles and concepts

  • Experience with test equipment (Oscilloscope, DVM, Logic Analyzer, Protocol Analyzer)

  • Electronic fabrication experience (e.g., soldering fine pitch parts, harness building, prototype fabrication)

  • Basic knowledge of Wire harness design

  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills

  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in work

  • Good interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to convey technical information clearly

  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's in electrical engineering or a related field

  • 5-7+ years of relevant experience developing hardware circuitry and systems
