Haul Truck Operator

Luck Stone's Fairfield, SC quarry is seeking a Haul Truck Operator! Haul Truck Operators run machinery for the success of the aggregate extraction process. They are trained associates who report to a supervisor or foreman. Haul Truck Operators skillfully navigate quarry roads and berms to ensure safe loading and unloading of rock into the primary crushers. Dependent upon heavy equipment experience, Haul Truck Operators will need high to little supervision for accomplishing their essential functions depending upon experience.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• 90% of job: Operator of a haul truck.
• Responsible for the safe operations of assigned haul truck. Ensuring all equipment is maintained and used in accordance with company health and safety regulations.
• Cleaning, lubricating, and performing regular safety checks on haul trucks. Ensuring equipment is properly positioned for loading and unloading of water.
• Performing other plant or pit maintenance duties as needed. Promptly reporting all faults to the Plant Manager or Foreman.
• Ensuring sites are kept clean and safe.

10% of job:

• Participate in meetings and training as directed.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

Education: High school diploma or GED

Certifications: General Mineral Miner

Work Experience: None required

Technical Competencies:

• Ability to lift and carry up to 45 pounds.
• Ability to wear a respirator.
• Ability to safely operate and maintain heavy equipment, stationary and mobile equipment.
• General equiptment care.
• Team planning and communication.
• Identifing work area, highwall, and berm hazards.
• Staging, loading, and dumping.
• Ability to identify equiptment issues.

ENVIRONMENT OR PHYSICAL WORKING CONDITIONS:

Ability to work under conditions of frequent exposure to dusty conditions and the full range of weather conditions; frequently in, on, and around quarry high walls and pit; extended periods working from elevated positions or in tunnels.
