Job Description
Oglethorpe University, Atlanta's leading private, Liberal Arts University is seeking an energetic and enthusiastic professional to serve as the Head Men's and Women's Cross Country/Track & Field Coach. The Head Coach is accountable for all phases of growing competitive cross country and track & field programs that compete in the Southern Athletic Association. Primary duties include coaching the teams, managing the budget, overseeing game day operations including travel arrangements, and effectively recruiting student-athletes. This is a full-time position with an excellent benefits package, including employer-paid health insurance, a 403(b)-retirement plan, tuition waivers, and much more. Salary is commensurate with experience.
Duties and Responsibilities:
The Head Coaches' responsibilities include but are not limited to knowing and abiding by all University, NCAA, and Southern Athletic Association rules and regulations; coaching; recruiting; monitoring scholar-athlete academic progress; budgeting; fundraising; and scheduling. The successful candidate must be highly motivated and have a successful coaching record in a competitive cross country and track & field program. The successful candidate must also provide positive leadership in all aspects of the program and must possess strong interpersonal skills to interact professionally with all internal and external patrons. Other job duties and responsibilities are to be determined by the Director of Athletics.
