Job Description

The Savannah R-III School District is seeking a dedicated and experienced Head Custodian to lead custodial operations within one of our school facilities. This role is essential in maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for our students, staff, and community. The head custodian at this building works a shift from 6:00am-2:00pm.

Position Overview

  • Location: Savannah, MO?

  • Schedule: Full-time, 12-month position?

  • Reports To: Building Principal and/or Director of Maintenance?

  • Supervises: Custodial staff assigned to the facility?

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily custodial operations, ensuring cleanliness and safety standards are met throughout the school building and grounds.?

  • Supervise, train, and evaluate custodial staff.

  • Develop and implement cleaning schedules, assigning tasks to custodial team members.?

  • Perform routine inspections of facilities to identify maintenance needs and ensure compliance with safety regulations.?

  • Manage inventory of cleaning supplies and equipment, placing orders as necessary to maintain adequate stock levels.?

  • Coordinate with school administration for setup and cleanup of special events and activities.?

  • Respond to emergency situations, including inclement weather events, to ensure the safety and functionality of the school environment.?
